Russian painter of Lithuanian birth. He largely painted landscapes (including pastel sketches), which are noted for their emotive or symbolic resonance. .Polish writer, art theorist, painter and photographer. He was the son of the architect, painter and critic Stanislaw Witkiewicz (1851-1915), creator of the 'Zakopane style' Wenceslaus WerlinWenceslaus Werlin (died 1780) was an Austrian painter.
Werlin specialized in portraits. He died in Florence in 1780.
